How does Ladders work?One topic chosen for the annual session Prior topics: Future Of Travel, Travel Impacts of Emerging Technology, Total Cost Of Travel. A subject matter expert will present to entire Group on conference call Teams will meet separately and prepare presentations Leadership will pick top 3 to present to the Group at GBTA Ladders Summit Winner (chosen by Group) will present at a GBTA Convention education session

How are teams judged on their presentations?The panel of judges use the below criteria to judge all presentations: 10 points | Preparedness - Prompt to scheduled presentation calls, ease of technology use, rehearsed, withintime parameters 25 points | Information Presented - Organized, clear message, topic appropriate, research cited, fully formedideas 20 points | Originality - Fresh approach/interpretation, cannot rehash previously stated ideas, unique solution toindustry issue 15 points | Team Interation & Involvement - Positive team dynamic, understanding of team membercontributions, all team members engaged in some part of presentation (either presenting or Q&A) 20 points | Delivery - Voice, style, appeal, persuasive, enthusiastic, not audibly nervous or shy, polished,articulate 10 points | Spontaneity - Ability to think quickly, pivot/recover successfully if necessary, and articulate answersaccurately

What is the topic for the 2021 Season?Connection as the Future of Travel GBTA has been about connecting people and the world. How do we continue to connect people, thereby connecting the world moving forward? How would we create the future now, encompassing lessons learned, engaging virtual technology while supporting in person/face to face conversations? Are there diverse suppliers that need to be invited to the party? What does the future look like for a travel professional? How do we advocate for travel?

Who is the Keynote for the 2021 seasonLeslie Andrews Leslie draws upon over 20 years’ expertise in all facets of the Hospitality Industry and Higher Education. She has been asked to serve in various leadership capacities from Leading Global Travel programs to Academic Dean for an International school. Currently, Leslie is the Global Travel Category Leader for JLL, as well as an ad hoc Professional Development Trainer, and Coach. Her academic experience, includes: college instruction, curriculum design, faculty development, and mentoring of adult learners. ​ Activities: Cochair of Roosevelt University’s Heller Graduate School of Business Advisory Board, DePaul University ASK Mentor, member of Travel and Meetings Society (TAMS) Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Advisory Board Member for Travel and Leisure, ProcureCon Travel, and Southwest Airlines.
